The Proclaimers are delighted to announce their first ever concert in Moscow, as guests of The St Andrew Society of Russia.
They will be performing at The Hermitage Gardens on Saturday 29th July.
Tickets for the concerts can be bought from DHL offices in the centre of Moscow- tel 956 0000 offices located at ul. 1st Tverskaya Yamskaya 11, Zemlyanoy Val 48B and Chistoprudniy Buylvd 12/4 all from 0900 - 2100
The St Andrew Society of Russia was founded in 1993 by Mike Mackie, Tom Crozier and Archie McIntyre as an outlet for expatriated Scots and friends of Scotland to meet socially on a monthly basis and to promote Scottish culture in Moscow. This all culminated in the first St Andrew Society Ball, which is now a regular feature on the Moscow social calendar. Monies raised by the Ball were then routed to Russian charities. The past few years have seen all monies raised going to the Tomilino Children's centre.
The Summer Stramash event is a charitable summer event established in 2003 with the purpose of giving expats and their families based in Moscow a summer party with a Scottish flavour. Distinct from the other two events organized by the St. Andrew Society, the Stramash is designed to give a more upbeat view on modern Scotland.

More summer shows to be confirmed shortly...
Monday 6th March 2006
After a great 2005 that saw The Proclaimers release their sixth studio album 'Restless Soul' and tour extensively from May to Hogmanay, The Proclaimers are off the road this year as Craig and Charlie are back home in Edinburgh writing their next album. They will however be doing a few live dates over the summer in the UK and Ireland and we shall be announcing these dates as they are confirmed.
Proclaimers fans in Northern Ireland can look out for the comedy series 'Dry Your Eyes', a brand new comedy sketch show starring the Hole In The Wall Gang starting on BBC 1 TV Northern Ireland on Fri 10 Mar, 10:35 pm.
The Proclaimers have written a new theme tune for the programme which they recorded in Glasgow in January of this year.
The end of last year saw The Proclaimers undertake a mammoth 36-date UK & Ireland tour, their biggest ever tour of England and finally ended the year in style at Aberdeen's Hogmanay concert in front of 30,000+ happy revellers.
This tour followed hot on the heels of a six-week September/October 26 date tour of Canada and USA. Whilst in Los Angeles, Craig and Charlie recorded parts for a new episode of the hit animation ‘Family Guy’.
The first half of 2005 saw The Proclaimers record a brilliant new album
‘Restless Soul’ during March/April in London. June saw them kick off touring for the year with a sell out 6 date mini tour, paying first visits to Dunoon, Campbeltown, Aviemore, St Andrews, Galashiels and Glasgow’s newest venue, ABC. In between a stonking gig at Glastonbury earned them 5 star NME and Q reviews. The Proclaimers were then a major highlight of Edinburgh Live8 concert at Murrayfield Stadium as they had the privilege of opening the evening to a typically rapturous acclaim. Major festival appearances to packed crowds and rave receptions continued over the summer including Guilfest, Galway Arts, Cambridge, Feile an Phobail, Belladrum and V2005 festivals.
Update 31st December 2005
A very, very happy new year to you and thanks to everyone who made it along to concerts in 2005 and helped make it such a memorable year for The Proclaimers.
2006 is going to be quieter as Craig and Charlie get back to writing the next album but we hope to do some live shows over the summer months and will announce as soon as anything is confirmed.

We deeply regret losing all the contents on the message boards after a
hacker destroyed everything, We had been advised the contents were secure
but alas this proved not to be the case and thousands of excellent and
informative comments and opinions have subsequently vanished into the ether. We have set up a new board to start again.

It has been a brilliant year so far for The Proclaimers.
They recorded a sensational new album during March/April in London. The sixth studio album 'Restless Soul' produced by Mark Wallis & David Ruffy is out now and getting great reviews.
June saw The Proclaimers kicking off ten months of touring with a sell out 6 date mini Scottish tour, paying first visits to Dunoon, Campbeltown, Aviemore, St Andrews, Galashiels and Glasgow’s newest venue, ABC. In between a stonking gig at Glastonbury earned them 5 star NME and Q reviews.
The Proclaimers were then a major highlight of Edinburgh Live8 concert at Murrayfield Stadium as they had the privilege of opening the evening to a typically rapturous reception. Major festival appearances and accolades galore continued over the summer including Guilfest, Galway Arts, Cambridge, Feile an Phobail and Belladrum. The summer season finished with a flourish at V2005 festivals where extra security and barriers had to be brought to the JJB Arena tent for The Proclaimers set due to the thousands of frustrated fans who could not get in.
Craig and Charlie and band are now on tour for the rest of this year and looking forward immensely to the shows.

at Edinburgh Zoo to launch a charity fundraising trek across
the Sahara.
Craig and Charlie Reid took time out from song-writing sessions
for their sixth album to pose with Holly and Khan in the camel
enclosure to get a taste of what’s in store for trekkers
who sign up for the once-in-a-lifetime desert adventure.

2003
saw The Proclaimers recorded their fifth studio album in London
during May with producer, Edwyn Collins. June saw The Proclaimers
and band back on road with a Five Isles Tour to Bute, Skye,
Lewis, Orkney and Shetland. July saw a triumphant main stage
appearance at T In The Park, the month also saw The Proclaimers
perform to immense acclaim at Galway Arts Festival, The Stockton
International Riverside Festival, Trowbridge Music Festival
and Womad Rivermead 2003.
Following the UK release of their fifth album ‘Born
Innocent’ in September, October saw The Proclaimers
enjoying a 30 date sell out tour across UK and Ireland. November,
saw them touring Dubai, Singapore and Australia, including
two major outdoor shows as part of the Rugby World Cup 2003
at Sydney Darling Harbour and Perth Arena Joondalup on the
evenings of Englands victories over France and Australia.
December and The Proclaimers head back home for more sell
out shows in Scotland and going down an absolute storm to
over 2000 The Coral fans at Liverpool’s Royal Court,
when performing an hour long set as surprise special guests
at The Corals home town end of year show.
The old year ended and the new one began in
memorable style, headlining
Glasgow’s Hogmanay celebrations in front of 25,000 people
at the city’s
George Square, amidst 70mph gales and torrential rain. As
outdoor events
across the land were cancelled, miraculously the rain in Glasgow
stopped for
80 minutes as The Proclaimers took to the stage and soaked
Glaswegians
celebrated the New Year gleefully.
2004 saw The Proclaimers return to USA & Canada for a
30-date tour. After
which the band came off the road and Craig and Charlie have
been writing
briskly, aiming to record their sixth album early in 2005.
The Proclaimers
will then be back on the road next summer for a number of
festivals either
side of the Atlantic, with a Worldwide concert tour to follow.

Review
Rock and Pop CDs:
The Proclaimers - Born Innocent (Persevere)
By Graeme Virtue
MAYBE it’s the bracing, box-fresh production by Edwyn
Collins. Or maybe I’m just getting old. Whatever it
is, the new album from The Proclaimers sounds terrific, effortlessly
combining all the attributes that have made them Scotland’s
best-loved band; it’s defiant, vibrant, witty and catchy.
And while there’s nothing here to quite match stone-cold
classics like Letter From America or I’m Gonna Be (500
Miles), the cheerfully self-lacerating Hate My Love approaches
that skyscraping level. Perhaps the whimsical Dear Deirdre
– addressed to the famous agony aunt – is a bit
throwaway, but the other 12 tracks (including a yodel-tastic
cover of Five O’Clock World by The Vogues) are brash
and boisterous. Next month, we’ll hear new albums from
Texas and Travis. But they’ll struggle to match this
gem from Craig and Charlie.

Record of the Week
BORN INNOCENT ***** (Five Stars)
The Proclaimers
Persevere Persreccd09, £14.99
Three albums in as many years from the Reid twins? No, surely
and emphatically not shome mishtake, but the most composed
and confident record the twins have made in a 16-year career,
one which sounds like it was influenced by The Proclaimers
and not their country, soul and gospel heroes.
Bookended by the strident title track and the sublime ‘There’s
No Doubt’ facing down the ageing process with a bristling
honesty, this is an unapologetic and admirable piece of work.
Recorded by Edwyn Collins in his hi-tech retro home studio,
this is indeed an old fashioned rock record with old fashioned
rock values, enlivened by the distinctive sound of their own
touring band.
Stevie Christie’s keyboard squeezes extra heartbreak
from the aching ‘Unguarded Moments’, the Reids
amazingly yodel in harmony on a speeded-up bluesy version
of The Vogues’ ‘Five O’ Clock World’,
while Stuart Nisbet’s guitar thrashes out the punk rock
protest that is ‘Blood On Your Hands’.
Then we have ‘Hate My Love’, a venomous kiss-off
of a song that Elvis Costello would be proud to have in his
songbook, though even he might have stopped short of the killer
couplet, "You’re worse than drink, You’re
worse than crack, For you they should bring hanging back".
The fact they chose it as the first single is a statement
of intent, and you should ignore the older, wiser, angrier
Reid brothers at your peril. Colin Somerville
